Unsure about what self-care really is? CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT!

Hey guys welcome back! This will be my 5th and last blog ^_^ (yayyy)
Today I will talk about 4 steps you can take into account to help and try enjoy your daily life more and live a happier life ^^

This blog is fairly similar to my third post, however, it is different as this is focusing more on external factors rather than focusing on your mindset.

Step 1: Have a Routine

Image result for routine clipart
Have a routine and make sure you STICK to that routine. Having a routine is helpful as it helps keep you off your bed and ensures you have a productive day, which can positively impact your mood and health. Starting to develop good habits is hard and really needs willpower. Keep in mind that it's okay to hit a few road blocks on the way, in fact this has happened to EVERYONE at least ONCE.

What's more important is how you react and respond to that failure. I know it is hard, but try your best to learn from this mistake and return to the routine you are trying to turn into a habit. Don't give up over one failure!

Step 2: Create a Wardrobe that Makes You Happy

What I mean by this is having a wardrobe filled with clothes that you feel good in. As Marie Kondo said,
Image result for marie kondo does it spark joy gif
Honestly, having a wardrobe filled with clothes that you feel good and look good (if you feel good in it, you will DEFINITELY look good!). For me, dressing better in clothes that makes me feel good has seriously improved my own perception on myself, my own confidence and how I perceive the world also. Going outside in clothes you feel good in, even if it's just to go to the library to study, can greatly improve your confidence.

Also, when shopping for clothes try to think if the clothes you're buying fits your wardrobe's current colour palette! This will make it easier for you to incorporate your new clothes to your already established pieces of clothing.

Step 3: Start Doing Activities that You Enjoy

This can be anything, ranging from reading to doing a sport. It is important that you take some time for yourself also. For me, I enjoy dancing and performing with my group of friends.

I have also started to take interest in volleyball and am actually hoping to get trained by my friends!

If you want something to enrich your life more, I really recommend volunteering or fundraising for a good cause! I have been volunteering for the past 2 years and am part of the Christmas Toy Appeal this year. The amount of goodness you feel from helping others is so good and just overall increases the satisfaction you feel within yourself and your life.

I would like to mention that as a student, doing these stuff can be quite stressful and time-consuming so just do what you know you can do and try not to overwork yourself.

Step 4: Surround Yourself with People who Build You Up

I have mentioned this before but I would like to repeat this because I honestly cannot emphasise how grateful I am to have such great friends that I was lucky enough to spend my childhood with.
Me and my best friend 7-8 years ago. DON'T WORRY, WE GLOWED UP I SWEAR!
When we are surrounded by hateful people that are critical and hurtful, it does nothing but spread darkness in yourself, also influencing you and turning you into a critical and hateful person which is obviously not good. So if you encounter people such as these, it is best to just distance yourself and avoid them.

Find people who do nothing but bring goodness into your heart. These are the people that lift you up when you are down and encourage you to life your life to the fullest. These are the people who wait patiently for you to open up for them and when you do, they are already standing there, smiling with arms spread wide open. Positive people help to encourage you, making you a more positive and happier person inside!

And that's it!

Thanks for following me on this blog guys! Hopefully I get a good grade in marketing! Have a great week and don't get too stressed! ♡

Signing off,
Junie ♡

Hey guys, welcome back! Today's blog post was highly requested and I'm finally making it! I'm going to tell you guys my secret of being slim thicc. This workout consists of focusing on getting a small waist and getting a big bum and is too long to talk about in 1 post, so if you guys want to know how to get a bigger bum then let me know. This post will be on how to get a smaller waist/flat stomach!

Being slim thicc is not a talent, it is hard work. I will talk about my workout routine and how I (or try to) get a small waist! I would like to mention that everyone's body is different and this may work for you or it may not. Also, I don't have a flat stomach. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It really depends on if it's morning and I've got the flat morning stomach and if I'd eaten or not yet.

An advantage to this workout is that you can do this at home and so if you're not comfortable with the gym yet then feel free to do it wherever you're comfortable.

How is working out related to self-care?

Self-care is all about improving yourself, having more energy and enjoying events in your life and just being satisfied with life in general. Working out is an important part of self-care as you're implementing exercise into your daily routine in order to take care of your mind and your body. Seeing the difference after working out for a while can lead to such a positive impact on your mind and well-being! It is so motivating.

Reminder that you can't change your body shape BUT you can improve it!

I do 3 sets of 12 reps. If this is too hard or too easy for you then obviously feel free to customise it! Also, I would like to add that this is not my only workout routine: I do some cardio and I also dance, so outcomes may be different. I would like to confess that sometimes, I don't even work out because I'm too busy with life.

ANYWAYYYYY

First things first, STRETCH.

Image result for stretch clipart

You need to stretch A LOT. Stretch before, in between every exercise, and after your workout. This helps to loosen up your muscles and helps reduce the chances of injuries.

Cross-Body Plank

So first exercise is the cross-body plank position on your hands and feet. Then cross your knees to the other side of your shoulder. This really works on your sides.

Once you've done those 3 sets, stay in that plank position for 30 seconds.

After your sets, lie on your stomach and stretch like this:

Image result for stretching your stomach

Plank Hip Dips

Get in the elbow plank position and dip your hip from one side to the other.

This really challenges a lot of part of your body. It helps strengthen your abs, obliques, lower back, and, of course, cuts down the size of your waist.

Once again, once you've finished the 3 sets, stay in the elbow plank position for 30 seconds.

When you're done stretch again.

Elbow Twists Plank

Get in a side plank position on your elbow and lift your elbow upside and then twist it to the floor:

Once you've done 3 sets on one side, stay in that side plank position for 30 seconds. Then get on the other side and do another 3 sets of 12 elbow twists and then 30 seconds of side plank position.

Then stretch your sides.

Crunches

Now, lie on your back and lift your shoulder and head off the floor, put your hands behind your head and lift towards your knees and then lower (without touching the floor):

Finish your 3 sets and then stretch your stomach.

Russian Twists (without equipment)

Next, sit up halfway, close your hands in front of you and twist side to side.

When you've done the 3 sets, stay in that position, put your closed hands in front of you and pulse (in the same way you do crunches, but sitting halfway up) for 3 sets of 12.

When you're done, stretch your sides.

Curl and Lift Crunch

I don't know what this exercise is called.
Lie down and put your hands behind your head with your head, shoulders and legs slightly lifted off the floor. Then pull your lengthened legs into you like this:
Image result for crunch leg bend

Don't forget to stretch after!

Crunch and Flutter Kicks

Stay in the same position, but instead of pulling your legs in, you are putting one leg over the other:
Image result for flutter kicks crunch

After you do your 3 sets, keep your leg lengthened and hold that position for 30 seconds!

If you've reached here then! WELL DONE! You've completed the workout! Unless you just read through it lol. So yeah that's you! Remember the 70/30 rule, if you want a smaller waist etc, it is really 70% diet and 30% exercise, so don't forget about what you're eating also. Try to eat healthily and hopefully you'll start to see results!

If you guys want to watch a video during your workouts, I recommend blogilates on youtube. She's so inspiring and motivating and makes you want to continue your workout despite the pain lol.

Thanks for reading guys! If you guys want to know my bum workout then let me know!

In my first post, I talked about about what self-care is - it is not salt baths and chocolate cake, it is making the choice to build a life you don’t need to regularly escape from. It is making a lifestyle that you are happy with.
Image result for self love clip art

What do I mean by being the most beautiful you? It is about having a positive outlook on life and yourself. Being the most beautiful you is not about what others think, but what YOU think about YOURSELF. Making healthy choices and habits will lead you to be happier with yourself and thus see yourself as in the best possible way. Today I will talk about steps you could take that will hopefully inspire you to see life in a more beautiful and positive way.

1. Be Grateful

Sometimes, there is so much stress and negativity going on in your life that you forget to be grateful about the little things that you have. Take some time out of your day and think, or write down, about the things - especially the little things - that you are grateful about. Doing this will help develop a more positive outlook about life in general.

2. Surround Yourself with Good People

Your relationship with other people can really affect your mood, mindset and overall life satisfaction. Surround yourself with people that understand you, respect you, care about you and support you.

Related image
Surround yourself with people whose values match yours, or people whose values you want to develop more within yourself. Make sure your relationships with people are healthy - meaning you communicate healthily with them and set reasonable boundaries.

Having a healthy relationship with others means you feel more secure about them and can easily open up about problems with them. This means it is easier for you to reach out to them and ask for help. Opening up about problems to your friends allows them to support and comfort you to help clear your mind.

Friends that are always there to support you and make you feel better can actually help you have a more positive mindset on yourself and a healthier mindset with life as you have people you can enjoy it with.

3. Be Less Critical

As mentioned in my post before, we are our biggest critics which means we bring ourselves down the most. Start creating a habit of talking more positively about yourself, rather than negatively. While you may be making self-deprecating jokes, it can actually demotivate you and make you feel worse inside even though it's meant to be funny. So try to stop bringing yourself down and start bringing yourself up!

Work on yourself by being kind to yourself, as you would with your friend.

Additionally, try being more positive when you're around your friends and partner. Remember to also take care and support the people around you. Your friends also need your support and comfort sometimes. You also need to take care of them when they do not feel like themselves.

On starting your road to self-care, you might not know where to start in this daunting journey. Therefore, it's good to start with something small and simple like your skin! Having good skin and being able to show off your no makeup face is one big step to self-confidence. You are regularly taking care of yourself and investing in your skin! Seeing results from your investment is a big confidence booster.

Additionally, it is good to have a routine at night that you follow to foster it as a habit. A life without any structure will cause nothing but mess and stress which will undoubtedly affect your mental health, thus it is good to start fostering some healthy habits for yourself - even if it's just starting with small little habits right now!

This post will show 10 steps, but if you're new to skincare it's okay to take smaller steps to communicate to yourself/myself that "I care about you."

Keep in mind that your night and day routine will be different, for example, my night routine is about 10 steps, whereas my day routine is only about 3 steps! Today I will share you my night routine, obviously.

Cleanse

Image result for makeup removed picture
This step is ESSENTIAL. It helps to purify your skin and removes all the dirt from your everyday activities. It would be a waste of your expensive skincare if you're putting it all on a dirt-filled surface!

Step 1: Makeup Remover

Image result for garnier micellar water pure activeI use micellar water to break down and remove all my makeup. If you don't like micellar water, then you can also use an oil based cleanser for this step.

Micellar water have these little molecules called "micelles" which attract dirt and oil, essentially drawing out impurities without drying out your skin.

Be gentle to your skin overall, but don't forget to be extra gentle when removing makeup around your eyes! They are one of the most delicate areas and so treat your eyes with extra love.

Step 2: Water-based Cleanser

Yes. Double cleanse. This helps to thoroughly remove the remaining impurities - such as sweat, bacteria, and old skin cells - that your makeup remover didn't pick up.

Image result for Simple Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser ingredients reviewCurrently, I am using Simple's Foaming Cleanser and so far it's been doing its job so thumbs up from me!

I also like to think that the vitamins it has is actually doing something for my skin but... I can't really tell!

Step 3: Exfoliator

Now that your skin is cleansed, it's time to exfoliate!

The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution  Bear in mind to only do this once or twice a week.

I prefer chemical exfoliants (AHA and BHA). I personally think that you can't have a complete skincare routine without a chemical exfoliator because it really gets deep into exfoliating your skin and unclogs your pores, helping to stop breakouts.

Chemical exfoliants also help stimulate collagen production and strengthens the skin, which prevents further wrinkles from forming!

Face Tone

In between cleansing and moisturising is toning your skin. It may seem unnecessary, but I'd say this is an ESSENTIAL step. Toner is important because it is multipurpose, it's used after cleansing to further cleanse your skin thoroughly after washing your face AND also to close up your pores and prepare your skin for the nourishment you're about to add onto your skin.

Step 4: Toner

I use TWO toners on my skin at night because they both have different purposes.

Image result for simple toner

First I use Simple Kind to Skin Soothing toner to remove any remaining traces of impurities such as dirt and makeup, and also restore my skin's to its natural pH level.

I then use TonyMoly's Wonder Ceramide Mocchi Toner. This toner hydrates, nourishes and repairs the skin.

It contains ceramides which are lipids that help form the skin barrier and helps protect the skin against irritants and pollution. Also, it helps the skin retain moisture, prepping it for the moisturisers in the steps ahead.

Nourish and Moisturise

This is the bit where you start to moisturise and really nourish your skin with concentrated antioxidants and vitamins.

Step 5: Serum

With serums, it really depends on you and your goals for your skin.
Image result for revolution vitamin c

I wanted to brighten my skin and prevent further wrinkles and so I chose a vitamin C serum for that.

Step 6: Essence

Most steps online say to do essence before serum, but the essence I use is thicker than my serum which is why I do my steps like this. If your essence is thinner, I would use it before your serum.
Essences have a higher concentration of active ingredients and penetrate deeper into your skin.
Image result for tony moly intense care gold 24k snail essence

Again, buy your essences depending on what you want for your skin.

I'm currently using TONYMOLY Intense Care Gold 24K Snail Essence because I got it as a gift. It's one out of the two expensive product I use, but don't  worry guys! There are plenty essences out there that is affordable.

After this step, it's important you wait 15 minutes for the serum and essence to penetrate your skin before continuing your skin routine. It might sound time consuming, but you can always do something productive during that 15 minute wait.

Step 7: Eye Cream

Your eye is the most delicate area on your face and therefore, you need to take extra care of it to prevent any crow's feet from forming anytime soon!
Lancome Advanced Genifique Eye Cream 15ml

Currently, I am using Lancôme Advanced Génifique Eye Care, the last thing that is expensive. So don't worry, the rest is affordable guys!

Step 8: Face Mask

Face masks are saturated with various different vitamins and plant extracts to help deliver moisture and nutrition to the skin. I use a face mask ONCE a week, but if your skin needs the extra nutrition then go ahead and do it 2-3 times a week!
Image result for the face shop face mask

I use a variety of different face masks from The Face Shop and TONYMOLY.

Doing face masks can be very relaxing and while you have it on for 20-30 minutes, you could do something productive during it! For example, I am writing this blog while wearing my mask right now!

Step 9: Moisturiser

Nearly there! This step will seal in moisture, plumping up your skin and leaving it smooth and hydrated when you wake up.
Simple Regeneration Age Resisting Night Cream 50ml

For my night cream, I am using Simple's Regeneration Age Resisting Night Cream.

Image result for botanical lab rose overnight hydrating mask
Lastly, I top off my night cream with an overnight sleeping mask.

I am using Botanical Lab Rose Overnight Hydrating Mask.

Step 10: Protect

The last step is all about protecting your skin from external environmental factors, so you should only do this step as part of your morning routine. It is important to always wear sunscreen even if it's a cloudy/rainy day.

I don't like to wear actual sunscreen on my face as they always feel so greasy on my already oily skin, so I just use a moisturiser that has SPF in it.

Also my foundations always have SPF in it. I would suggest sunscreen that's at least SPF30. I use Simple's Age Resisting Day Cream, and yes it's only SPF15 but my foundation has SPF30 so that counts right??

And you're done!

I hope you guys enjoy your day (or night?) and continue to take care of yourself, your body, mind, and, obviously, SKIN! I would like to repeat again that you don't have to do all these steps, it really just depends on you and your skin. Don't be afraid to experiment with different brands and each products' functions!

Also skin-care can also be an activity for you, your friends and/or your family! You all can do face masks together and it's honestly such a fun and relaxing time to develop your relationships.

Self-Care: What is It? How Do We Do It?

Hi guys! I'm Junie and I created this blog to help inspire and encourage people to love themselves and take care of themselves. The name EuphorYou is a play on the two words, Euphoria and You. I chose the word Euphoria as it has the meaning of: "a state of extreme happiness." Basically I want you, yes you, the one who's reading this, to be able to enjoy life more and find happiness in it, even if it's just by a tiny little bit. I will be posting every week and I hope you guys stick with me!

So first of all:

What does 'Self-Care' REALLY mean?

With so many trends going around social media these days, the term 'self-care' has become so popular that I feel the real meaning of it has been lost. I want you all to know that self care is really not about eating ice-cream or having bubble baths or face masks.

In my opinion (meaning you guys can disagree with me here), self-care means prioritising your happiness, your mind and your heart for once, and not basing your decisions on what someone else wants.

True self-care is not salt baths and chocolate cake, it is making the choice to build a life you don’t need to regularly escape from. It is making a lifestyle that you are happy with.

Sometimes self-care is not what you expect it to be. You are parenting yourself for your future well-being. It is doing the routines needed to keep your life and health on track. It is making sure you take your vitamins, making sure to stay hydrated and making sure you are doing enough exercises to keep your body fit and healthy. It is looking at your disappointments and failures and picking yourself back up and improving from that.

Sometimes, self-care is just finding out ways to accept yourself. Our biggest critics are ourselves. And so today I want you to do something for yourself. Talk to yourself in the same way you would talk to a close friend of yours. Look in the mirror, and just start complimenting yourself (no matter how weird that may sound).

Taking care of yourself and having a healthy mindset means you will attract good things and good people around you.

This blog will teach you the many ways of self-care, with routines such as skin care and work out routines. My next post next week will be on How to Get Glass Skin! Please stay tuned for that!
